February BYOC at The Lilypad!

January has certainly flown by... but there is one good thing about it: it's BYOC time at The Lilypad! :)

I have made two pages so far, but more will be coming.. This BYOC is irresistible!

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

Four weeks down - I cannot believe that January is almost over already! Here's my Week 3.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

I went with a bright color scheme this week. :) It was inspired by the big 3 card from the Studio Calico Block Party Project Life kit, and that gorgeous floral paper from the Basic Grey Fiction collection.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

We had some pretty snow this week and the large vertical pockets of the Design D photo page were perfect to showcase two photos I took. I added touches of yellow throughout the spread, and the floral washi tape by My Mind's Eye matched the floral paper. The 3, HELLO and dotted card on the left page are all from the Studio Calico PL kit, as well as the yellow star stickers and several stamps. The yellow tag and the X sticker are from Studio Calico.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

For the right page, I used a photo sleeve page by We R Memory Keepers. OK, here come the detailed images.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

The photo in the top left pocket was taken with my Canon 50 mm f/1.4 lens - I rarely put it on my camera (my go to lens is the 28 mm f/1.8, which is the perfect size for my crop sensor Rebel XSi) but I took it out to take some pictures of the big fluffy snowflakes that day, and I'm so glad I did!! It's such a gorgeous lens.
I used the Smash date stamp as usual, and wrote "week" on the title card using a Sharpie poster paint marker. Journaling pens: Micron 03 and American Crafts slick writer. The yellow arrow is from an old Studio Calico sticky pad, and I attached it with the tiny attacher.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

I did the title on the left with this handy type rubber stamp set and the number 3 from the Basic Grey micro mono alpha stickers. The arrow and the flair are from Basic Grey Fact+Fiction. I bought the flair set thinking I'd never use this particular badge, since I love math, but it worked out well to go with this story! :)

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

I loved these two cards from the Studio Calico PL kit, so I kept them simple and accented them with a stamp also from the kit, and an adorable little sticker from Amy Tan - I love this set! I stayed home most of this week, so that explains the @home card. :)

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

I stamped a heart from the Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go stamps on a little piece left over from one of the sticky arrows I used. The washi tape is by My Mind's Eye.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

This pretty calendar was included in the Studio Calico PL kit, and I trimmed it down to a square to match my pocket size. I stamped the days with a stamp from the Day by Day class kit at Studio Calico and Colorbox ink. The background cardstock is from LCI Paper.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

The camera stamp is from the Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go stamp set - it was my first time using this particular stamp and it stamped so well! I used jet black archival ink by Ranger. The washi tape is by My Mind's Eye.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

For this pair of cards I stamped a stamp from the Studio Calico PL kit onto a little ticket from Basic Grey Fact+Fiction and layered it with some washi tape and an enamel dot by My Mind's Eye. I don't usually do a week in review card, but I decided to include one this week to journal about a few random things that didn't have a photo to go with them.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

Embracing some messy stamping with the  Smash date stamp. :) The washi tape is by My Mind's Eye.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3

I cut a bit of Weekdays Glass Tape (Freckled Fawn) to put the day on the photo. The butterfly is from Basic Gray Fact+Fiction. The washi tape is by My Mind's Eye. As usual, I got to the end of the spread with not pockets left so I condensed the journaling for 3 days on one card. :)

And that's it for this week! :) Week 4 is already in the works - I was on a roll yesterday and I am already over halfway through. :) I love this project! Do you do Project Life? Leave me a comment, I'd love to see your pages!

In other news, I have completed Week 3 of my Project Life (I will share it shortly), and I am half way through Week 4. The new kit for February is revealed tonight at Studio Calico - it is sold out already, and I am so glad I signed up for the subscription well in advance! I can't wait to get it!

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

Another week in my album, and I love it!

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

The color scheme for this week came together quite naturally. I knew I wanted to use the grey card with the phone sketch from the Studio Calico Project Life kit, because I had a story that was perfect to go with it. So I dug into my stash of 6x6 papers, and found this lovely background from the Studio Calico 34th Street card kit that went so well with it - enter yellow. The green (or whatever that color is ;)) was determined by the big "2" card from the kit.

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

{Design D photo protector page}
So for the rest of  the spread, I picked cards from the kit in the same green tone, and added some papers in green and yellow from my favorite Studio Calico Heyday line. I did some stamping in grey on the right page to tie it all together. It worked out perfectly!

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

{Design B photo protector page}
I used more papers from the Studio Calico Heyday 6x6 paper pad on the right page. I had lots of fun digging into my stash to find embellishments that went well with these colors. OK, here are some details. :)

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

The stamp is from a retired set by Studio Calico. Plus I used the Smash date stamp. I use this pen for journaling.

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

These cards come from the kit. I added some letters from a Basic Grey alpha, plus a cut out made with my Silhouette. Love love love these alphas for Project Life.

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

The banner sticker is from the Studio Calico Heyday stickers, and I stamped on it with one of the stamps from the kit. The other stamp ("freshly made" is by TPC Studio.

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

Some more stamps, cards and a label from the kit, plus a star from the Studio Calico Heyday stickers and an enamel dot by My Mind's eye.

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

Stamps from the kit and from a class kit, using Prima chalk ink. That star sticker is from part of the packaging of the October Afternoon Midway word stickers. :) (one of the actual stickers is used in a pocket above - "good eatin'").
And guess what?? The "open me" card opens up (no kidding! ;)).

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

I wrote some journaling in there about my expectations for the new year - it was very therapeutic!

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

This is probably my favorite card of the entire spread. I made a mask using the Martha Stewart all over the page star punch, and misted with Studio Calico Mr. Huey Dewey, which happened to match the green perfectly. :) I also stamped some letters from the Stepping Stone alpha using the mist. To finish, I added some stamping with Prima chalk ink.

Project Life 2013 - Week 2

The background of the bottom pocket is repurposed packaging! It was the backing of a stamp set by Studio Calico - I knew I'd been holding on to it for a reason! The tag is from Elle's Studio The Sweet Life cutouts.
My go to black ink for stamping: Ranger archival ink jet black.

The Little Things

I am so excited to share with you the latest collaboration by Mari Koegelenberg and Sugarplum Paperie. They did an entire collection of three kits, and I am giddy just looking at them! But of course I couldn't just sit here and admire them... I had to scrap! ;) They were such a delight to work with! I made a page with each of them separately, to show how well they work on their own, but all mixed up they are even better! ;) First up, there's Sweet:

Dressing Up

DH and I stayed at a hotel for a short vacation between Christmas and New Year's, and one of my favorite things was dressing up for the fancy dinners. I rarely do that at home when we go out because I'm too lazy and always wear trousers in winter, but staying at the hotel and dining right there was the perfect excuse to dress up! ;)

I have a crush on gold and vellum right now, so this collection is simply perfect for me! What do you think about it? The kits also come in a bundle, and everything is 20% off today only.
Have a nice weekend!

Love You So Much

Jenn Barrette is re-releasing in her Sweet Shoppe store this gorgeous collab with Lauren Reid. It originally came out when she was guesting at One Story Down, but I  didn't get a chance to grab it back then. The kit is 20% off today!

I love this kit so much! The theme is obviously scrapbooking, but it works for anything really! I used it to make a love card using the print and cut feature of my Silhouette.

I cut out the three frames and backed them up with patterned paper.

I love how it turned out! :)
I have another post coming soon with another fabulous release (or three ;))!

ETA: I print all my hybrid projects on Canon matte photo paper. It's very cheap, and the colors turn out beautifully!

Happy Birthday The Lilypad!

It's The Lilypad's 6th birthday, and celebrations are in full swing!

There's a 30% store wide sale, and games galore in the forum, including my personal favorite - kiss the frog! :)

And to top if off, Sahlin Studio has a fabulous birthday collection new in the store today!

I used it to make a page for my 2012 Project Life album (one of the many weeks I haven't quite gotten to yet.. ;)), for the week of my husband's birthday back in November.

Project Life - Week 48

I made backgrounds from the gorgeous papers, and used the vintage cutouts and cards, borders and snipettes to embellish my page. All that was left to do was journal, and add some sewing. :) Here are some details. :)

Project Life - Week 48

There's a story behind the "cake #3" (and "cake #4" in another card below): this year DH actually got 4 birthday cakes with candles! Two were at a restaurant, one with friends, and the last at home. :)

Project Life - Week 48

I used the photo collages by Designs by Lili to fit all my restaurant photos in this pocket, an I added some journaling on a strip cut out of the papers.

Project Life - Week 48

Those vintage cards are so much fun! And this blue "happy birthday to you" is my favorite paper in the set, tied with the one I used in the title card. :)

Project Life - Week 48

This doggie was so cute, I thought it deserved its own pocket. :) I used my Silhouette to cut it out, as well as the Happy Birthday sign below. I sized the sign to be slightly bigger than the pocket because I wanted it to stand out, and I attached it with glue dots to the front of the page protector.

Project Life - Week 48

Yup, cake #4. :)

Project Life - Week 48

This one shown here looks like a paper, but it isn't - I just repeated a few times one of the borders, slightly shifted, and printed them out, because I loved the look! The presents were also cut out with the Silhouette.

Project Life - Week 48

Well, I hope you will take part in the celebrations at The Lilypad over the weekend!
