Valorie Brown is Having a CT Call!

Valorie Brown is having a CT call!! Check it out here.
She has the most amazing designs and her kits are full of realistic elements.. I love them!

A little update about me: I haven't blogged this week because I didn't scrap. The reason is that I'm working on a hybrid project and it's eating up all my time! :)
But it should be done with soon, and I'll get back to some scrapping. I can't wait to show it to you when it's ready! ;)

Monochromatic LO

I did a 2-pager today using a bunch of Sugarplum Paperie's goodies.
I ended up with a monochromatic LO, even though that wasn't my intention when I started. But when I saw how well the background papers went with the photos, especially with the left page, I couldn't get myself to put in any splash of color, no matter how hard I tried. :) I really love the result.

Here's the 2-page spread:

and here are the 2 individual pages:

What can I say? I really love my new camera (and DH who gave it to me!)! :)

Lazy

I did a LO yesterday but was too lazy to blog about it.. :) Here it is:

Newest Family Member

I did a LO to celebrate the arrival of the newest member of our family: Koalie!

I lifted this LO by Sya (for the scraplift challenge at SM, of course!) and used Bree's kit All About A Girl.
This is only the 2nd LO I do about our little friends (see the 1st one here), but as I promised, there will be more. :)

Week 3

Here's my Week 3. I used a very pretty kit that came with the December Newsletter at ScrapMatters (and is now available in the store there).

I didn't use the new camera for today's picture because I only brought my point and shoot (and certainly didn't regret it - there was nothing fancy to capture and the weather was bleak, so I only took this one picture to remind us of the occasion).

Cold!

It's been freezing the past few days, yesterday especially was really cold!
So it's just fitting that I should use a kit by Polka Dot Plum called Brrrrrrrr! ;)
I did 3 coordinated pages.

Here's page 1:

and here's pages 2 and 3 (that form a 2-pager):

You can find this gorgeous kit at ScrapOrchard or Sunshine Studio Scraps!

Another 2-pager!

I find myself doing 2-pagers quite often lately! It's because I have many pretty pictures to scrap and don't want to let any out. :)
So here's another one:

And here's a closer look at the individual pages:

I think I'll be doing quite a few more 2-pagers with Christmas pictures! :)

Christmas Ornaments on our Tree

I took some closeups of some of my beloved tree ornaments with the new camera, and did a double pager to showcase them.

Christmas Whimsy LO

I used the fun kit Christmas Whimsy by Polka Dot Plum for this LO, and I loved all the cute gifts, in fact I couldn't make myself take any of them out and had to use them all! :)

Catching Up..

I've been a very bad blogger this week! But going back to work after the Christmas break was tough, and on top of it I received some very bad news from a friend and I've been out of sorts lately.
But hey, life goes on, and I have lots of pictures from Christmas to scrap. Here's a few, taken on Christmas morning, the very first pictures taken with the new camera. :)

I've been regularly taking my pics for Project 365 but haven't had time to put together this week's LO yet. I'll get to it soon anyway!

I really love the Holly Jolly Holiday kit by Polka Dot Plum. This is the 3rd LO I do using it (plus a hybrid ornament!) and I'm not tired of it in the least!! :)

Week 1

So here's my first pictures for Project 365 - it seems like I'll be doing a Project 365 for pictures and a Project 52 for scrapbooking. :)
I kept the page real simple, because this will turn into an album that is in addition to my regular LOs, not a replacement.
Als0, since I'd like to have a uniform style throughout the album, it's likely that I will change fonts/titles sometime.
I downloaded quite a few templates created for Project 365, but I ended up not using one: it's hard to use a template when your pictures have a certain orientation, and size, and order..
As you can see, for me the week starts on Monday, so the first week of the year ended today, on Sunday.

DH and I decided to leave the Christmas decorations up for another week. Then, the Christmas season will be officially over. :-(

New Year Resolution?

I usually never do New Year resolutions, because I never maintain them, and this year is no exception. That's why I'm not even committing to do Project 365, even though I've started it and want to keep doing it. If I can do it, I'll be happy, but I don't want too much pressure if I fail.
However, I do have a goal this year: I want to use the fancy camera DH gave me for Christmas, and I want to use it well. I hope to improve my photography skills and especially to have fun in the process. I scrapped a LO for a challenge at SM:

Welcome 2009

Happy New Year everyone!

There's a lot of interest all over the web for Project 365. I read about it months ago, and recently re-learnt about it from IkeaGoddess. The project is to take a photo a day, for a year.
I like the idea, but I'm not really sure how to apply it. Taking a photo a day shouldn't be a problem (actually, I might have the opposite problem: I tend to take many pictures once I start, so choosing just one photo a day will be really hard). And then since I'm all about scrapping, how should I scrap them? Ideally, a 2-pager per week would work well.
But I like to dwell over the minor and major events in my life so scrapping 3/4 pictures from different days on one page is not going to be enough for me..
Anyway, I'll start it for now, and we'll see where it leads me. I will take more than one photo a day and will try to choose just one for the Project, and use all the ones I want to scrap as usual.

Here's my first LO of 2009 and it's one I'm very pleased with:
