It's Coming..!

OK, seriously.. I cannot believe I haven't blogged about this yet!!! Shame on me!

It's starting on Monday, Feb. 1! There will be 3 lessons each week, starting from the very basics; there will be homework (and little treats! ;) ) to keep you on track. Hope to see you all there! ;)

Get Ready..

Our Amy Sumrall is guesting at ScrapOrchard this month.. and this means she'll be busy designing like crazy for the whole month of February!! Actually.. she's started already! :) Check out this collab with Ziggle Designs:

Isn't it fun and adorable? :) Here's a little card I did with it:

Amy stuff works phenomenally well with hybrid. Do you see how shiny and dimensional those hearts are?!? Well, I didn't add anything glossy, it's just Amy's designs printed out on paper! :)

One Love - Reaching out to Haiti

It's here!! This amazing collab (48 designers!) is ready, and you can make a donation for Haiti by buying this incredible collaboration kit:

Click on the image to go to the store and check out all the previews - this collection is huge, and gorgeous!

If you haven't donated to help the Haiti population yet - or even if you already have - please consider "buying" this kit. All the profits will be donated to the Bush Clinton Haiti Fund to provide immediate help.

Forty-eight designers from around the community have joined together to bring you this incredible kit with the common purpose of raising funds for Haitian aid and relief.  Our theme, "One Love", symbolizes not only our heartfelt effort to help the people of Haiti, but also encompasses the diverse styles of all the designers involved in this project.  This kit represents the diversity of our community and shows that even though we are all different, when we come together the result is truly spectacular.

The profits from the sale of this kit will be donated to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.  We chose the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund not only because it embodies the spirit of One Love, but also because 100% of the donations will go to the relief and recovery efforts in Haiti and because they are working to provide both immediate relief and long-term support to the earthquake survivors.

This beautiful kit includes 114 papers, 356 elements, 3 alphabets, 6 page templates and 1 hybrid template and  16- 12 in. x 12 in. .png quick pages.

This product is only available for a limited time.

One Love Charity Collab

Many designers are working on a collaboration kit for Haiti: all the sales will be used to bring help to the people who suffered the dreadful earthquake on Tuesday.
I don't know the details yet, but I know this: Amy Sumrall is one of the designers and the other people who are working on the kit are also incredibly talented, and buying the kit is a good way to help.

It will come out on Friday, and I'll let you know more as soon as I have news myself.

Funny Flower

Amy has a new kit out at the Lilypad today, and it's totally funky and fun! It's a new release, so it means it's 20% off until Sunday!

I fell in love with the bold patterns! Here's what I scrapped with it:

Fun with Cards

I've had fun making a couple of cards this week! They're all for the It's in the Cards hybrid challenge at ScrapMatters. Every 2 weeks, you get a free template for your card! Anyway, I had fun trying out some new techniques/products. I was so inspired by Tim Holtz's blog that I decided to pick up a few of the supplies he uses in his creations, since I am totally green for anything that's related to paper scrapbooking. It turned out a great way to start! So, first off, this card, using stickles and foam dots:

Here's a close up:

OK, I gotta confess: when I designed my card in Photoshop, I planned to print out the penguin along with the paper behind it, but when I prepared the page to be printed, I separated them by mistake. Since the scarf fringes and the ice skates are doodled, it would have been impossible to cut around them with a craft knife, so I decided to use stickles on top of them. And it totally makes this card! Having just the penguin on foam dots makes the card really adorable. :)

Have you seen how wonderfully sweet this new collab by Erica and Denise is???

I'm totally in the mood for Valentine's Day, since I did a project for the SM newsletter this month (it's going out as I write, so it'll reach your inbox soon if you're signed up to receive it) that is Valentine related, and I needed a card to go with it. :)

For this card, in addition to the foam dots, I used distress ink to ink the edges, for the first time!! ;) I LOVE it!! ;)

Have you seen?

Have you seen who's guesting at ScrapMatters this month? I have to say I've loved all the guests we've had (and I'm very excited that some have stayed on at SM as permanent designers, like Gwenipooh Designs, Page Frocks and Designs by Sarah Bennett), but I'm really partial to this particular designer, Kaye Winiecki. She sells at the Lilypad and her creations are simply adorable. Having her at ScrapMatters is just wonderful! She made this lovely kit:

and I used it to scrap about my mom's broken foot:

This is my first page for 2010 (since hybrid and P365 don't really count as LOs, in my book! ;))!

ETA: this LO was featured on the Log Your Memory blog!

$2 Tuesday

It's $2 Tuesday, and a whopping 13 products are on sale in Mari Koegelenberg's store!!!! Check them all out here!
You can save up to 67%!!

Still have some Christmas pictures to scrap? Check out this gorgeous kit:

and here's a page I did with it for my 2010 calendar, and hadn't posted here yet:

Christmas Card Keepsake

I was inspired by the CK blog to create a keepsake for our Christmas cards. Every year, I never quite know what to do with our Christmas cards, and while I don't want to throw them out, they all end mixed up in one box or another.. So this project was just perfect for my taste: it looks pretty, and it keeps all the cards together!

Credits:

I even created a gift log, thanks to these gorgeous prompts by Sahlin Studio:

A page for me, one for DH, and one for both of us, including the gifts we received and those we made.

I really enjoyed putting this together, using some of the goodies I got with my Christmas gift card at AC Moore! ;) I am completely in love with glossy accents!

Gift Tags

I was working on a P365 page with this adorable kit, and I realized I never posted the gift tags I made with it. So, here they are:

and this kit is simply fabulous! It makes me happy just to look at it! ;)

Almost There..

Slowly but surely, I'm catching up on my P365. :) I have under a month to catch up with now! Here's weeks 48 and 49:

I thought I would keep doing P365 this year, but I'm not too sure anymore.. I switched to a new research group about a month and a half ago, and I've been working like crazy ever since. I will have much less scrapping time this year, so I don't know if I can keep the P365 up.. I certainly will keep taking a photo every day, but I don't know if I can scrap them as well.. Anyway, I'll try, and we'll see how it goes.
I'm excited that ScrapMatters is starting a P365 challenge! I hope that helps me to keep my pages coming! :)

Goodbye 2009.. Welcome 2010!

Happy New Year!
While I haven't kept an accurate count, I believe I completed 327 LOs in 2009.. That is, not counting the P365 pages, nor the hybrid projects, nor the calendar pages. Boy, that's quite a lot! ;)
I didn't do any resolutions last year, nor will I do any this year (I can't stand the pressure!), but I am really happy about where my scrapbooking led me in 2009. I know I will have less scrapping time this year, but I hope to still manage to squeeze in some satisfying quality time. :)
It's really impossible for me to pick one favorite LO of the year.. I really love them all, and am proud of several of them.

(Sorry for the horrible picture.. I just discovered I accidentally erased the good pictures I took, after I'd already sent the card.. Ugh!)
