Today I dusted off my Silhouette cutting machine and used it with some new digital brushes from Ali Edwards.
This was a fun page to make!
I love how the white cut out words stand out against the bright floral patterns.
I hope you had a nice weekend!

MPM: Composition
Hello and happy Friday! It's release day for the September MPM (Memory Pockets Monthly) at The Lilypad, and it makes me so happy! This month's theme is composition, and the color palette is yummy.
Of course this kit and the add ons don't have to be used in a pocket page.. in fact they work great for regular pages too!
I love how bright and fun this page is. Yellow + red + b/w.. love it!
I am in love with this floral pattern!
Also, I have another exciting sale to share - and you can thank me for this one! :) These are my favorites from the entire store.
And check out the challenge in the forum using these products!

Build Digital Story Kit
The theme for Ali Edwards's Digital Story kit for August is Build. And I was inspired to make two hybrid pages with it today. I combined them with my Studio Calico kits from this month (Pop Art).
For the first page, I printed some of the Build digital brushes onto white card stock. I tried feeding the paper through my typewriter but I couldn't get it through, so I typed my journaling on copy paper and pasted it there.
Just yesterday I got the news of a big work success I achieved, and this is how I chose to document it.
Here are a couple details:
The next page is all about pretty paper and embellishments. I love that floral paper from Crate Paper!
The design was 100% inspired by that big cross from the Build kit. I colored it navy and printed it on my kraft background, along with the title (This Is What It's All About). I also added a brush on top of my photo.
I paired this page with my favorite embellishments this month - gold washi tape and puffy plus stickers. :) I can't believe I had not scrapbooked this lovely family photo yet!
I hope you're having a great weekend!
(and these are pages 8 and 9 with my kit this month.. yay!)

New This Week
Well hello! Are you documenting your week in the life this week? I am, and I am also on a short business trip, so it will be an interesting week to record. And today's highlight is the weekly sale on select products at the Lilypad. I made this page with this 50% off kit:
I just love that picture I snapped with my phone from the passenger seat. I already scrapped this photo in a paper page, but I scrapped it again because I thought it was perfect for this kit. :)

Nothing but Sunshine
It has been a while since I scrapped a digital page (like 3 weeks.. eek!) because I have been doing lots of paper LOs instead, but when I saw the new collection by Digital Designs Essentials I wanted to use it right away!
The bundle is on sale for a short time so grab it while you can. These colors and patterns are so much fun! Here's what I made with it:
And yay for the weekend, I hope you have a great one!

Kill My Studio Calico Kit: July - Fairground
Fairground is the Studio Calico July kit. The prices have increased, the kit costs $34.99 (up by $5), and I also purchased the Carousel embellishment kit for a promotional price of $11.69.
Notes: The only things I loved in the main kit were the yellow paper (the B side of the one with all the squares) and the stamp set. In the add on, I loved the chipboard hearts and the stamp. I liked most of the rest. I disliked the clock acrylic shapes in the add on and the floral transparency in the main -but I love how I ended up using them.
Status: killed
I made 14 layouts with this kit (10 12"x12", 3 8.5"x11" and 1 9"x12"), for a total of $46.68, or $3.33/page. I supplemented it with some card stock from my stash, some hybrid papers (printed out from digital), stamps, and the odd embellishment.
Here are the bits and pieces I have left:
Leftovers: a good chunk of the green paper with crosses, most of the flower transparency (not my favorite), a couple of pieces of the yellow dot paper (my favorite this month!), some alpha stickers (hard to make words with what's left), some chipboard hearts (love them!) and silver foiled perforated words, most of the washi tape strips (am having a hard time using them), a clip, a few acrylic clock shapes and a few animals (I combined the acrylic shapes in the scrapbook and Project Life kits).
Kill my Studio Calico kit is a monthly series I started on my blog to hold myself accountable and use up my kits. My goal is to use up a kit before the next one arrives.

Kill My Studio Calico Kit: June - Galileo
I am starting this series on my blog to keep myself accountable. I love buying new scrapbooking products, but I don't want them to pile up, I want to use them and finish them up!
At the end of May I subscribed to the scrapbooking kit at Studio Calico (with a $5 promotion). So my first kit to kill was Galileo (June 2015). My goal is to use up a kit before the next one arrives.
Notes: I loved pretty much everything in this kit. The stamp set is very versatile (I am using it a lot in my Project Life album), I have a weakness for puffy stickers and gold foil, and I love the cork map.
Status: killed*
I made 9 layouts with this kit (7 12"x12", 2 9"x12"), for a total of $5, or $0.55/page. I supplemented it with some paper and stamps and a couple embellishments from my stash.
*what I mean with "killed" is that I don't have any whole pieces of patterned paper left or enough embellishments to make a page.

Leftovers: cork world map (I am hoarding it.. :)), part of the star foiled specialty paper and of the pink dots paper (my favorite this month!), some stickers and an acrylic word.
So the first month was definitely a success!

Good Riddance July
I am definitely on a scrap roll these days, and I'm loving it. This is the latest page I came up with. Very simple design, with some yellow and blue touches to tie together the different pieces.
I layered on my photo a digital brush by Ali Edwards prior to printing. I made it yellow to match the plastic balloon and the backdrop of the July cutout.
Here's to hoping that August turns out better than July did. So far, I'm not seeing much of an improvement.. but at least it's almost time for the weekend!
